Pordenone
The provincial chief town, Pordenone (derived name from Portus Naonis, the ancient board on the fìume Noncello), has an extremely pleasant historical center. Piancavallo
The splendid Piancavallo is reached in 10 minutes of auto or, more comfortably, with 30 minutes of bus (the stop is in center city). Here the scenery is marvelous and you can chose the sport you prefer: excursions, hydroplane, and in winter descent ski, fund ski, skating on ice.
There is here an excellent snow thanks to the geographical position of the valley situated at 1300 meters It is protected by the Monte Cavallo and open toward the Adriatic sea. The good snow is also possibly thanks to the artificial snow programm. This allows to offer "guarantee snow" on the 100% of the sky area. You can also find numerous alpine sky, one of which illuminated at night, fields school for children, the ice building for sky skates (PalaPredieri), that can also be used for the rotter skates in summertime. A new Palasport is inaugurated on the occasion of the Universiadis 2003. New proposal is offered from the Italian School of arctic survival. For the rest of the vacation you can enjoy a great commercial center, wine-bars, restaurants, pizzerias, trattorias, coffee-bars,  a room congresses and the disco.
